How it all started.

Background and History

New Freedom Clinic is a nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation founded on July 3, 2020. The birth of the nonprofit grew out of the passion of a physician and community advocate to help adults and their loved ones who were dealing with the devastating effects of opioid addiction. Since 2017, Dr. Joseph Ferguson, a primary care doctor in Fredericksburg, VA, has seen the extraordinary results of the naltrexone implant as a medical intervention to halt the cycle of addiction. However, insurance does not cover this procedure, which prevents those in need of help from securing the procedure. New Freedom Clinics is devoted to placing FREE naltrexone implants to save the lives of people with opioid abuse disorder. The naltrexone implant makes it nearly impossible to feel the effects of opiates. It has also been proven to significantly reduce cravings. One patient describes the impact that the naltrexone implant had on him: "naltrexone has given me my life back."
